About Us

Helping Hands Family Care Management lives up to it’s name: the staff within the business help families manage many of the challenges they face during times of change. Whether you are a senior, who is having difficulty managing within your home or community as daily life becomes more challenging, or you are a person who has acquired a disability, who needs to reshuffle many aspects of your life – Helping Hands will guide you through the process.

The Owner

Helping Hands was incorporated in 2003 and is managed and operated by its owner, Dave Robens. Dave holds a Master of Occupational Therapy degree from UBC, and has several years experience in home and community accessibility, brain injury rehabilitation, senior care, and home design and renovation.

On February 4, 2002, Howard Robens, Dave’s father, had a hemorrhagic stroke affecting his right side and leaving him with aphasia. During Dave’s years of daily involvement in his father’s recovery process, he realized how challenging it is for individuals and family members to navigate through the many changes required to maintain a high quality of life. Building on his own extensive research and experience, Dave created Helping Hands to ensure that people who have acquired a disability, and their families, can still live happy and manageable lives.
